- Abstract
The intention of my senior culminating project was to take what I’ve learned from my interdisciplinary studies and apply it to real institutions in society. Through this mindset I have created a volunteer program in the Madison Women’s Correctional Facility based off of my past experiences mentoring youth in the Juvenile Facility and my academic courses at Hanover College. My core studies were in the Sociology Department, where I gained much of my understanding about the American criminal justice system as well as my time abroad in Oslo, Norway and having researched their prison system. My goal of the program was to graduate from Hanover College having established a partnership with the Women’s Correctional Facility, through either student, professor, or faculty lead endeavors.
