Abstract
  • During resistance training, there are two contractions that occur, first the concentric, then the eccentric. Often, the concentric portion is emphasized while the concentric is not. Studies on the effects of eccentric-focused exercise seem to promote the notion that eccentric-emphasized resistance training is beneficial. This study was designed to explore the effects of eccentric controlled contractions on muscle hypertrophy.
