Abstract
  • The purpose of this study was to determine if familiarization had an effect on Functional Movement Screen Scores. In this study, six female high school tennis athletes completed five trial, two subjects 24 hours apart, two subjects 48 hours apart, and two subjects 72 hours apart. The trials were completed with each subject attempting the deep squat, hurdle step, in-line lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight leg raise, trunk stability push up, and quadruped rotary stability. It was hypothesized that all groups would show score improvement from the first trial to the fifth trial, the subjects that completed the trials 72 hours apart would show the most improvement, shoulder mobility would show the least improvement, and the in-line lunge will show the most improvement. Data concluded that for an accurate assessment the Functional Movement Screen should be done at least twice and at least 24 hours apart.
