- Abstract
This paper aims to answer the question: How has US Foreign Policy approached the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during the Bush and Obama administrations? To answer this question, this paper considers a variety of scholarly articles, government documents, and newspaper articles. These mediums were chosen for the different perspectives they provide. The scholarly articles provide analysis of the situation from an academic understanding. Government documents, including published documents and records of political speeches, look at government promises and their public interactions. Newspaper articles provide factual information as well as insight into public opinion. The Bush and Obama administrations were chosen because they provide an opportunity to compare both a republican and democratic approach facing relatively similar circumstances in the Middle East. President Obama inherited the war that Bush began and both worked in a post September 11 environment that created an increased focus on radicalism in the Middle East.
