Historical Note: The Rogers family moved to Hanover, IN, in 1916, to allow their three youngest children the opportunity to attend Hanover College. Henry Martyn and Alma Smith Rogers knew of the school through the Presbyterian Church, the denomination where H.M. Rogers was a minister, and their eldest son, who had attended prior to their move. In 2016, the Rogers family celebrated the 100th anniversary of the family's move to Hanover, IN, and their ancestral home located near the town limits of Hanover, IN. The home was initially named Bird Haven by the family due to the large bird population, and the name is still used as of the 100th anniversary.
