Historical Note: David Howard Peak was born 27 May 1871 in Bedford, Kentucky and was a student at Hanover College from 1890-1895. He received an honorable mention as a student in 1894 for the school's Voris Prize. He graduated Magna Cum Laude on 13 June 1894 with a B.S. and also earned an A.M. from Hanover College in 1904. Peak received a law degree from the Law School of University of Louisville in 1897. He taught at Bedford and Carrollton, KY, and practiced law in Bedford, KY. He served as a member of the Kentucky. Senate and was publisher of the Trimble Democrat. Peak died 10 December 1951 in Fayette County, KY.
