Historical Note: Samuel Henry Howe was born in Fleming County, KY on 18 December 1837, the son of John and Sally Howe. He worked as a Presbyterian minister in the New York and Washington, D.C. area. Howe died in Norwich, CT on 12 October 1930. He was married to Katharine Boucher Buss on 14 May 1873 in Cohoes, New York. She was born in 1842 in Albany, New York. Kate died in 1932 in Norwich, CT.
