Historical Note: Hanover College is a private liberal arts college located in Hanover Indiana right off the banks of the Ohio River. It was founded in 1827 by Rev. John Finley Crowe and is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. The illustrations were created during the presidency of George D. Archibald in 1868-1870.

Scope and Content: Financial statement sent by Hanover College to A.T. Stewart of New, NY, ca. 1869. Created by L.B.W. Shryock, the Treasurer and Financial Agent for the college, it provides a look at the financial condition of the institution in October 1869. Also included are an advertisement for the college featuring an image of Old Classic Hall and a postal cover with the same image and a description of Hanover that reads: “With and able Faculty, ample facilities, Tuition Free, Cheap Living.”
