Scope and Content: The Charles S. Domalewski Papers (1943-2001) are a collection of the Vietnam letters, ephemera, and photographs of Major Charles S. Domalewski, U.S. Army. The collection's letters begin in 1966 and continue through 1970, and cover topics of the Vietnam War, struggles of life at home, and the separation of a married couple. Photographs range from 1943 to approximately 2001.

Historical Note: Charles S. Domalewski was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on June 1, 1943. He attended St. Peter's College-now St. Peter's University, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army in 1965. Domalewski served in the United States Army from 1965-1979, and obtained the rank of Major. During 1966-1967 and 1969-1970, Domalewski deployed to Vietnam, where he served as a platoon commander. He married Mary Rose McPherson in June 1968 and the two had two children-Charles D. Domalewski and Helena Domalewski Schulz. Charles S. Domalewski died of stomach cancer in August 2001.
