Scope and Content: Diary of Rev. William Frazer in 24 volumes, 18921-1918. The entries focus on Frazer’s work as a minister, bird watching, weather observations, family life and travel. He also comments on national news and events such as World War I, the sinking of the Titanic, food production, bee keeping, astronomy, farming, agriculture, and local events. The collection does include some vital statistics information from his work as a minister, particularly baptisms and deaths. Volumes for 1899, 1916, and 1917 are missing.

Historical Information: William John Frazer was born on 22 March 1853 in Paoli, Orange County, IN to John and Nancy (Scanland) Frazer. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1874. In 1881, Frazer became an ordained Presbyterian minister, serving communities throughout Indiana and Illinois. He was sought after as a speaker and his sermons were regularly printed in newspapers and other publications. Frazer last served as a pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Ohio, where he died on 18 February 1920.
