Scope and Content: Records of the Elwood First Presbyterian Church located in Elwood, Madison County, Indiana, dated 1880-2000. Session meeting minutes, church registers, congregational meeting minutes, church attendance records, board of trustee meeting minutes, board of deacons meeting minutes, ladies aid society meeting minutes, women's missionary society meeting minutes, Westminster club meeting minutes, women's association meeting minutes, Christian endeavor meeting minutes, Sunday School meeting minutes, and historical booklets. Also includes vital statistics information (baptism, marriage, death).

Historical Note: The First Presbyterian Church of Elwood, Indiana is located in Madison County. Elwood was founded on May 19, 1880. Twelve women and eight men started the church. A Sunday School followed eleven days later. Until 1892, the congregation shared a pastor and a meeting place with several other churches in the community. A small church, built for $400 under the direction of the Rev. Frank M. Baldwin, served the congregation between 1887 and 1890, on a lot at 18th and S. A Streets, which has been the location of the Church from that time on. In 1994, the church moved to 223 Main St., Elwood after building a new structure on the site.
