Letter from John Finley Crowe to Esther Alexander, May 15, 1814

Public Deposited

A letter from John Finley Crowe, dated 15 may 1814, to his wife Esther Crowe over his journey to Philadelphia. Crowe talks about exchanging horses twice so that he can still journey onward. In the letter Crowe expresss the hope that Esther's life contains many friends to occupy her time while he is absent. He states that he has none but his heavenly father for company. Crowe continues on to ask Esther to join him in praising God. Even though Crowe spent much of the journey alone, he devotes a portion of his letter to describe the people he has met on the road.

The Crowe Family Papers Digitization project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
