Scope and Content: The Lantern Slides collection contains glass transparencies from 1880-1920. Topics within the photographs include historic people and places from Hanover College, including faculty, notable alum, academic buildings, scenic campus views, campus falls, and local falls.

Historical Note: Hanover College was founded in 1827 by John Finley Crowe, a Presbyterian minister, in southern Indiana as a Presbyterian Seminary. The college was the first private college in the state of Indiana.
