Scope and Content: Records of the New Washington Presbyterian Church in New Washington, Clark County, Indiana, dated 1855-1994. Collection includes meeting minutes, membership lists, financial records, project planning, Sunday School reports, staff changes, annual reports, church histories, committee repots, church bulletins, and newspaper clippings. The collection also contains contents of the cornerstone removed on 16 January 1980 from the church building including a church history and dedication documents, receipts, the cornerstone box, memorabilia, newspapers, and photographs. Records also include vital statistic information for births, baptisms, marriages and deaths.

Historical Note: The original building for the New Washington Presbyterian Church was built in 1840. The second building was dedicated on August 17, 1916 by the New Washington Masonic Lodge No. 167, F. & A.M. The pastor at the time of the dedication was the Rev. George J. Donnell.
