Historical Note: The Earlham Heights Presbyterian Church of Richmond, Indiana was formed in 1906 when two gentlemen from the Second Presbyterian Church started a Sunday School that was held in the backyards of the new Earlham Heights addition. John Dougan, an elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church, donated a lot at the corner of Southwest 17th and Main, and through the trustees of the Second Church, a grant of $1,000.00 was obtained from the Presbytery's Home Missions Department, to begin work on a new edifice. The Church was dedicated in 1909. The First Presbyterian Church and the Second Presbyterian Church merged on July 1, 1999. The merger of First Presbyterian Church and Earlham Heights Presbyterian Church was effective January 1, 2004.
