Photograph of Calla Harrison. Calla James Harrison was a 1883 Hanover College graduate. She was the first woman to graduate from Hanover College after full admission was given to women in 1881; however, women had been attending classes at the college since 1869. She served as a missionary in Japan and later Hawaii. Writing on back reads Calla J. Harrison, Delta Gamma, Graduate 1883, First Woman Grad. of Hanover Col, and From the Keepsakes of Margaret Emma Ryker, Grad Class of 1886 (Mrs. Thos. M. Macdonnell).
