Historical Note: Hanover College was founded in 1827 by John Finley Crowe, a Presbyterian minister, in southern Indiana as a Presbyterian Seminary. The college was the first private college in the state of Indiana. Thomas Charles Whallon was an 1898 Hanover College graduate. He was a Phi Delta Theta. He was a brother of Arthur J. Whallon, a 1907 Hanover College graduate.
