Events such as the river freezing over and their son being delayed from traveling because of it. Esther mentions a boating exhibition that occured the same day as the letter was written. She mentions having few interactions with anyone outside of visiting the sick. Additionally the letter discusses that a sickness has come around Hanover, but that the Crowes have not gotten it yet.
