Historical Note: From 1955-1959 Richard A. Gilmore participated in atmospheric nuclear weapons testing in Nevada. He Graduated from University of California at Berkeley in 1966. During the 1970s, he was a professor of microbiology at Southern Illinois university in microbiology.

Scope and Content: The Richard Gilmore Papers date from 1952 to 1994 and includes scientific work, mostly physics, including laboratory manuals, thesis and master projects, class notes and scientific publications. Includes documents from the Nevada Test Organization Test Site on Operations Plumb bob, Teapot, Hardtack Phase II and more. Documents originate from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, University of California Berkley, Strong Memorial Hospital, and Donner Laboratory. Notes from conferences hosted by the 21st Century Higher Education, Association of American Medical Colleges, and Oklahoma Network for Continuing Higher Education.
