A letter from Eliza Crowe to her father John Finley Crowe while Rev. Crowe was in Philadelphia. At the beginning of the letter Eliza asks Crowe how he spent the anniversary of George Washington's birthday. Eliza included in her letter a detailed account of her and her mother's attempts to write Crowe. As well, Eliza discusses the difficulty to write a letter when one does not have any ideas what to write. Additionally, Crowe's daughter talks about Crowe's son's inabiity to travel do to ice on the river. Eliza spends some time discussing the social scene in Hanover of the day. Portions of the letter are devoted to news of hanover College and the health and well-being of the students.
