After graduating from Hanover, he taught in Lebanon, Indiana, from 1896-1899, and then traveled to Lewistown, Idaho, where he taught from 1899-1906. He taught in Los Angeles, California, from 1906-1908, and died in Phoenix, Arizona on 8 March 1909.
