Photograph of front of Old Classic Hall. Construction began in 1853 and completed in 1857. Originally called College Building. Building consisted of 'center building...with lateral and transverse wings' containing 'corridors, four literary society halls, libraries, lecture and recitation rooms, and chapel.' Renamed Classic Hall on June 5, 1900 by the Board of Trustees. Building destroyed in fire on December 19, 1941, shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Last event in building was the last chapel service before Christmas vacation on December 18.
