Woods Field House
Public DepositedSecond gymnasium. Originally built in 1908, Woods Field house replaced the first gymnasium, destroyed by fire in January of that year. Enlarged in 1922, it was moved in 1938 from its original location at the west end of campus to a spot one block northwest.
After men's physical education programs moved into Lynn Gym in 1947, Woods Field House continued to serve as a home court for Hanover High School basketball, and as a small theater for college dramatic productions. In 1956, Woods Field House was demolished to make room for Long Gymnasium.
