Hanover College is home to the largest collection of Presbyterian Church records in the state of Indiana. The Presbyterian Archives includes records of local churches from across the state, as well as Presbytery and Synod of Indiana Records. Researchers will find church session minutes, ministers’ journals, photographs, financial records, and church registers dating from 1800-2015. These records often contain vital records information (birth, marriage, baptismal, and death) not documented in official state records.
The included finding aids provide researchers with valuable information about the materials housed in the Archives and Special Collections. These can include a general description of the materials, biographical or historical information, and a contents list.
Please note that this collection contains only finding aids. The presence of a finding aid on this website does not mean that items from the collection have been digitized or are available online. For more information about this collection, or to schedule a time to visit and review nondigitized materials, please contact the Hanover College Archives at archives@hanover.edu.
