Abstract
  • The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of arginine on arm volume size during and after completion of vigorous resistance biceps exercise. Arginine is an amino acid and also a base component of nitric oxide, a potent arterial vasodilator. Increased consumption of arginine may, in turn, increase nitric oxide production. An effect would increase blood flow, resulting in increased arm volume due to an enhanced reactive hyperemic effect.
