Abstract
  • Abstract The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the degree of reactive hyperemia and the amount of work output produced in both conditions: control versus caffeine. Dominant arm volume was measured before and after maximal resistance exercise in both trials. The degree of reactive hyperemia was determined based on the volumetric values yielded. Work output was calculated after the resistance exercise was completed. It was hypothesized that the addition of caffeine would increase the arm volume and work output more than the control trial. This study was approved by the Hanover College Institutional Review Board with regard to the use of human participants.
