Scope and Content: For the 50th anniversary of the 1974 tornado, Hanover College and the Duggan Library Archives collected stories from alumni, faculty, staff, and local community about their experiences and memories of April 3, 1974. These memories are to be permanently preserved so future Hanoverians can understand the impact of this event on the campus and community.

Historical Note: At 3:51 pm on April 3, 1974, the Hanover College campus was struck by a tornado that devastated the campus and local community. 50 years later we remember those affected by this event, particularly the 11 Jefferson County residents who lost their lives.
